Below we take an in-depth look at Brain MD Brain & Memory Power Boost to see whether or not this nootropic supplement is effective at boosting memory, enhancing focus, and improving circulation.
Brain MD Brain & Memory Power Boost is a nootropic supplement that claims to improve memory and promote mental sharpness. The product is offered as a part of a ‘free trial’ that ultimately costs consumers $80+ per month. It can be purchased on its own, although still at a high price for a nootropic supplement.
There is a relatively long list of ingredients found in Brain MD Brain & Memory Power Boost, and they can cause a range of side effects. The most common side effects appear to be stomach pain, nausea, sleep disturbances, headache, dizziness, and digestive issues such as constipation and diarrhoea.
For a full list of the side effects that could be caused by Brain MD Brain & Memory Power Boost, click on the Side Effects tab below.
Brain MD Brain & Memory Power Boost is available to purchase from the official Brain MD Health website. A single bottle costs $59.95 and contains 120 capsules.
Brain MD Brain & Memory Power Boost can also be purchased on amazon, with a single bottle of 120 capsules costing $59.95, with free delivery.
Brain MD Brain & Memory Power Boost is a relatively expensive supplement; each bottle costs around $60, and there is no real price competition from third-party retailers. Although each bottle contains 120 capsules, it is only a 30-day supply because of the four capsules per day dosage.
Overall, we are not hugely impressed by Brain MD Brain & Memory Power Boost. We have numerous issues with Brain MD Health, who manufacture the product. The company is owned by Dr. Amen, and yet the sales page uses his quotation about the effectiveness of the product, almost as if it were an endorsement by an independent doctor, rather than an incredibly biased statement by someone who makes money from the product. Dr. Amen has received criticisms in the past over his work, especially over how he diagnoses psychological illness.
The products on offer, both Brain & Memory Power Boost on its own and the larger package deal called Brain & Body Power, are incredibly expensive. We intensely dislike that consumers are encouraged to sign up for an auto-ship program – these can work out much more expensive in the long run, and often people forget to cancel them, ending up with an excess amount of the supplement that they don’t want. Even the claim that the ‘free trial’ is free is not strictly correct. Consumers are automatically signed up for an auto-ship program that costs $84.96 per month, starting 14 days after they order the trial.
The returns policies offered by Brain MD Health are fairly extensive, provided you can get an RMA code from the company over the phone.
As for Brain MD Brain & Memory Power Boost itself, we have mixed feelings. Some of the ingredients are commonly used in nootropic supplements, and have some very circumstantial evidence to suggest that they could aid some aspects of cognitive function. However, the clinical support for other ingredients is much weaker, if it exists at all. For example, Ginkgo Biloba appears to improve circulation, but has not been studied directly for its potential as a nootropic ingredient.
Overall, we do not recommend Brain MD Brain & Memory Power Boost to our readers.
Brain MD Brain & Memory Power Boost is a nootropic supplement that will supposedly ‘protect circulation in your brain, boost brain circuit function and promote mental sharpness’. It is manufactured by Brain MD Health, and is sometimes referred to as ‘Dr. Amen’s Brain and Memory Power Boost’.
Dr. Daniel Amen is the owner of Brain MD Health, the company who manufactures the supplement. Whilst he has achieved some fame over the years for releasing numerous bestselling books, he has also faced criticism for his methods, including diagnosing psychological illness using a type of brain scan called SPECT.
Dr. Amen appears to have developed these products himself, and as the company owner clearly makes money from sales of his supplements (one article about Dr. Amen claimed he earns around $20 million a year), and yet the sales page uses his quotation about the effectiveness of the product, almost as if it were an endorsement by an independent doctor, rather than an incredibly biased statement by someone who makes money from the product.
According to the official Brain MD website, directions for use are as follows: Take 4 capsules daily with food. Higher intakes may be beneficial, as recommended by a nutritionally informed physician.
Although the product is created and endorsed by a doctor, and the brand name of ‘Brain MD’ heavily suggests that Dr. Amen is a specialist in improving cognitive function, this product is a supplement, not a medicine; legally, the product cannot be marketed as being a treatment for any illness or disease. The generic advice of Dr. Amen, given upon the basis that he wants to sell a product to you and make more money, should not replace the advice of your own doctor.
The contact information for Brain MD Health can be found on the official website.
Dr. Daniel Amen, the owner of Brain MD Health, states on the official sales page:
This is one of the best brain-health supplements available, offering support for a wide range of cognitive functions including focus, memory and mental clarity.
It is important to note that nowhere on the sales page is it made clear that Dr. Daniel Amen’s statement is a sales pitch from the owner of the company, and not a medical recommendation from an independent medical practitioner.
The sales page for Brain MD Brain & Memory Power Boost lists the following benefits of the supplement:
Nootropics ingredients are often researched in relation to illnesses or injuries that cause cognitive decline or cognitive impairment (such as Alzheimer’s or severe head trauma), and it is much rarer for studies to focus upon cognitive improvement in otherwise healthy subjects. There is also the issue of the potential benefits being very subjective, and the potential for a placebo effect.
Vinpocetine could both help to improve mental energy and memory, but the clinical evidence is generally inadequate, as the trials that have been conducted are extremely limited, biased and outdated.
Huperzine A could help to boost cognitive function. Phosphatidylserine has clinical support linking it with the treatment of cognitive decline, but there is no strong evidence linking it with improved cognitive function in those who are not cognitively impaired (such as those suffering from Alzheimer’s).
Acetyl-L-Carnitine could help to reduce fatigue, which could lead to consumers feeling more mentally alert. Ginkgo Biloba could increase circulation and blood flow to the brain, which could theoretically make consumers feel more alert.
Overall, Brain MD Brain & Memory Power Boost could theoretically boost mental energy and improve memory somewhat. However, we feel that the sales page and Dr. Amen may have overstated the potency and effectiveness of this supplement.
The ingredients used in Brain & Memory Power Boost are detailed below. The ingredient quantities are per serving of four capsules.
There are numerous ingredients found in Brain MD Brain & Memory Power Boost that could cause a range of side effects.
Side effects of Phosphatidylserine can include insomnia and stomach upset, particularly at doses over 300 mg. It can be made from either plant or animal sources, and so may not be suitable for vegetarians.
Vinpocetine can cause some side effects including stomach pain, nausea, sleep disturbances, headache, dizziness, nervousness, and flushing of the face.
Huperzine A can cause some side effects such as nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, sweating, blurred vision, slurred speech, restlessness, loss of appetite, contraction and twitching of muscle fibres, cramping, increased saliva and urine, inability to control urination, high blood pressure, and slowed heart rate.
Acetyl L-Carnitine can cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, heartburn, diarrhoea, and seizures. It can also cause the urine, breath, and sweat to have a ‘fishy’ odour.
Not suitable for anyone under the age of 18. Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Do not use if you are using a MAOI, prescription drug, or over-the-counter drug. If you are a competitive athlete and/or subject to drug testing, consult with your sanctioning body prior to use to ensure compliance. Use cautiously in patients with history of seizures, based on reports of seizures due to Ginkgo seed ingestion. Consult your doctor before purchase if you are unsure about the suitability of this supplement for you.
There are numerous customer reviews on the official sales page – the website shows that the 69 reviews have an average rating of over 4 stars. However, we have some issues with the review system on the official website. Only a few of the reviews can be viewed.
The terms and conditions state the following:
All reviews are subject to our approval process, which may include editing, condensing, removing, or deleting entirely, any reviews deemed by Amen Clinics, inc. to not be in compliance with our rules and guidelines.
This suggests to us that negative reviews could, potentially, be deleted. The website also offers the incentive of 500 loyalty points (redeemable as a discount on future purchases), for leaving a product review. These factors together suggest to us that the reviews on the Brain MD Health website could be biased. Instead, it is better to turn to an independent website’s reviews, such as those left on Amazon.
This product helps boost my brain clarity!
I got foggy after stopping. I was going to quit after one bottle and just supplement with ALA and NAC which would be cheaper. But after not using it for a time, I noticed a change. More fog and forgetfulness. So I will be ordering again. Seems to be a good product.
I have been using this product for 2 weeks now and I can already ascertain that I am calmer in my everyday thoughts than I was before taking it. My calm thoughts induce a more positive outlook on my immediate future which actually guide me toward reachable goals and mile markers. I am still a novice on seeing results of “Change Your Brain, Change Your Life” and I am learning through Dr. Amen’s mentorship. Thank you Dr. Amen, for all you do.
I get stomach pain when I take this. I can’t use it. Can I return the product? I took it twice only due to stomach pain.
For the first week or two, this product worked amazingly for me. My anxiety attacks stopped and I seemed to level off, with good changes in my mood and brain function. Then, suddenly, it stopped being as effective and I couldn’t tell if I had taken it or not. This is pretty typical of brain drugs for me, but maybe this isn’t the case for you. It was worth the price when it was working, I’ll tell you that.
I honestly do not know if this product is “doing anything”. Almost out of my first order. When is the clarity minus the brain fog going to start?
Seeing improvements with first bottle. Executive function problems reduced, short term and other memory improved. Able to make connections between thoughts or ideas better. Mild Cognitive Impairment symptoms have been reduced. Significant others notice the change, too.
I love this product. I started taking it for long-term benefit but noticed improvement quickly. I can focus and think faster when I have taken it. It does bother my stomach which is the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars. The shipping was very fast.
I have used this product for almost a year after getting a work up from the Amen Clinic in Newport Beach. My memory, cognition and focus have improved, however, there are other supplements and a prescription that I am taking that have contributed to this outcome. This product taken by itself could still create great improvements in brain health so I encourage anyone to try it.
This is one of the best Brain Solutions I ever took! Make sure you take it as directed… It is too powerful and it will make you feel sick if you fail to follow directions…

Brain MD Brain & Memory Power Boost is available to purchase from the official Brain MD Health website. A single bottle costs $59.95 and contains 120 capsules, enough for a 30-day supply. Delivery charges may apply. The website also offers an auto-ship program, where customers can get a discount in exchange for signing up for a monthly delivery of the product. We discourage consumers from signing up to auto-ship programs, as they can often be difficult to cancel, are easy to forget about, and can often cost the consumer much more in the long term. The auto-ship program costs $50.96 per bottle per month, and comes with free delivery.
Finally, Brain MD Brain & Memory Power Boost is also offered as a part of a ‘free trial’ offer. There are several different ‘free’ trials on offer; Brain & Memory Power Boost is a part of the Brain & Body Power trial. If the consumer does not contact the company within 14 days of ordering the free trial to cancel, they will be sent more products, and charged an additional $84.96. This charge and delivery will be repeated each month until cancelled.
Brain MD Brain & Memory Power Boost can also be purchased on amazon, with a single bottle of 120 capsules costing $59.95, with free delivery.
